UTV scores another “Goal”!!

Hey Guys,
Here's an article i'd written for UTV's newly released film "GOAL", when it was just about ready to be shot...Hope u enjoy reading it!

After David Beckham and Ronaldo, it’s John Abraham and Arshad Warsi now. With the soccer fever catching up like fire, even our stars are giving it a go. It’s all thanks to UTV’s upcoming new venture GOAL, which gives the stars a chance to score a goal too.
UTV has been known to take bigger and mightier challenges in its stride and exceeding the expectations each time. And portraying the intricacy of the game onscreen is no pushover. And the makers of UTV’s “goal” are pulling out all the stops to ensure that the end product is immaculate, which explains the arrival of Andy Ansah, the very famous football star himself, to India.
Also well known for his stints as an actor and producer, Andy Ansah has seen the best of both the worlds, proverbially and literally. His accidental entry into Hollywood at the age of 30 as a soccer player for a fictional “Harchester United” team in a production named ‘Dream Team’ won him accolades as an actor and made him a cult figure among many of his soccer fans. Having worked with soccer wizards like Beckham, Ronaldinho and Pele as a football consultant and having served as a professional football player in the English football league for 12 prolific years, he has just the right ingredients to make an ideal ‘soccer-bollywood’ recipe. And as if this wasn’t enough to make him the first choice to invite him over, he was also responsible for the credibility of the $100 million Hollywood film trilogy “Goal”, in which he was appointed as the football coordinator and consultant.
And the story doesn’t end there. Andy has also choreographed for top notch brands like the Cadbury commercial, where he made Ronaldinho shake a leg, the other credentials being choreography for Adidas and Nike world cup campaigns. Needless to say, he comes over to India to ensure the film looks authentic onscreen and our very own Bollywood actors are mistaken for Soccer Stars, if just for one movie.
UTV’s “Goal”, which is being directed by Vivek Agnihotri, will for the first time portray the game as the protagonist. “Goal” is an attempt to delineate football as “not just a sport”, but a phenomenon capable of making a difference to people’s lives, often transforming them for the better.
So audiences, when you visit the theatres, do remember, it’s a movie you’re watching, not the soccer world cup.
